How to Recover Deleted Messages on iPhone

You accidentally deleted messages, you deleted messages to free up some space on your iPhone. Now want to recover the deleted messages but don’t know how to do it. Please refer to this article. 1. Recover Deleted Messages using iCloud

If you’ve backed up your iPhone data using iCloud or iTunes, you’ll be able to restore deleted messages from those backups.

  • After your phone installs, the Apps & Data screen will appear, click Restore from iCloud Backup.
  • Enter your Apple iCloud ID and password.
  • Choose a backup. Touch Show entire backups to see older backups stored in iCloud. Look at the date and size of each backup to select the latest backup containing the deleted messages.

It will take a while to restore your backup from iCloud. Once completed, the deleted messages will reappear on your iPhone.

2. Recover deleted messages using iTunes

If you don’t store data on iCloud but have synced with iTunes, you can recover deleted messages using iTunes.

Note: This method only works when you have synced, backed up your phone data with iTunes before deleting the message.

  • Connect your iPhone to the PC you’ve synced.
  • On iTunes, select the icon of your iPhone device to get to the recovery interface.
  • Navigate to the section Backup and then click on the section Restore Backup.
  • Next, find in the list of times when your device has been backed up with iTunes. Look at the date and size of each backup to choose a appropriate backup, then click Restore to restore all data and messages that you have deleted accidentally.
