How To Update iPhone To The Latest iOS Version
Updating iPhone software (iOS) is a good idea. The update is available for free from Apple. It applies the latest security features and fixes to iPhone. Below, how to update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Backup Before Updating
Although problems during the installation process are very rare, if that happens, you will most likely lose data.
So, before you install the iOS update on your iPhone, make it a habit to make a backup first.
Update iOS Via The Settings App
Today, most people update their iPhone directly on their device without connecting it to a computer. This is called a wireless setting and how to do it is as follows:
First, launch the Settings app (gear icon). By default, it is located on the first page of the main screen. Use Apple’s Spotlight Search if you need help locating this app.

If the iPhone has not downloaded the update, click Download and Install and enter the password if required.

After the installation process begins, you will see a message saying Verifying Update. Wait for it to end. After verification is complete, the iPhone screen will turn black and reboot.

Update iOS in Finder or iTunes
You can also update your iPhone through a wired connection to your Mac or Windows PC. On a Mac running macOS 10.15 or higher, open Finder. On a Windows or Mac PC running macOS 10.14 and earlier, open iTunes.
Connect iPhone to computer with a Lightning-to-USB cable. If this is your first time connecting your iPhone to your computer, tap Trust in the message that appears.

After your phone has finished updating, you can check to make sure you have all the latest updates installed.
On iPhone, navigate to Settings> General> Software Update. If your device is fully up to date, you will see a screen similar to the one below, indicating that your software has been updated.
